Passive House Infographic
Source: New York Times
Infographic explaining important aspects of a passive house. This style of construction was first established in Germany and uses rigorous standards for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. This ultra-low energy building style requires little energy for space heating or cooling. Passivhaus is a huge step in the right direction for sustainable community development.
As a teaching resource this clearly shows how Passivhaus construction maximises the heat and power of the sun through large, south facing, triple-glazed windows and solar panels to heat water within the house. Can be used for the Construction Studies topics of Passive Design, Water, Heating and Windows.
